May Workforce 360 - Employment Interventions for People Experiencing Homelessness

05/15/2019 08:30 AM - 11:00 AM CT

Description

In 2017, Chicago’s homeless response system added a new question to its Coordinated Entry process: “Do you want help finding a job?” Most people - approximately 60% - said yes. Unfortunately, there is still a huge gap between the homeless response and workforce development systems, so many of those people remain disconnected from workforce supports.

Come to Workforce 360 on May 15th to learn about all the work currently being done to build and improve upon employment strategies for job seekers experiencing homelessness. At this meeting, you will:

  • Learn about new Chicago-based research around homeless job seekers
  • Improve your knowledge of how our homeless response system works; and
  • Discuss “tips and best practices” for how to support job seekers who face housing instability or homelessness.

Come not only to learn new information, but also to share your knowledge from the field with other workforce professionals!
